My research looks at the intersections of post-modern and post-colonial writings. My interests specially focus upon Diaspora literature, immigrant literature, women’s literature, British-Muslim and American-Muslim literature, Indian Anglophone literature. I have also been engaged in interdisciplinary research that brings together literature and social-science methods and materials. I have published six articles including two interviews with British Immigrant Muslim writer Leila Aboulela and postcolonial academic critic Prof Claire Chambers. I have presented research papers and delivered talks in national and international conference and seminars. Apart from academic writings, I am a frequent contributor to various media outlets like Cafe Dissensus, Muslim Mirror, Maktoob Media and Beyond Headlines. During the last few years, I have done extensive field work in north India from Bengal to Punjab to understand the literary void of marginal voices in contemporary India. I have visited Manchester Metropolitan University, England (2021), BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh (2020) and International ILEM Summer School, Istanbul, Turkey (2019) to present my research papers.
